Pennsylvania’s gaming sector recorded a historic revenue milestone in November 2024, with total earnings reaching $562.4 million, a 26.06% increase compared to the same period last year. The state’s gaming industry continues to cement its position as a leader in the U.S. market, with robust contributions from iGaming and sports betting driving the growth.

Online Gaming and Sports Betting Lead the Charge

The rapid expansion of Pennsylvania’s online gaming market was underscored by a 26.88% year-on-year rise in iGaming revenue, which totaled $200.5 million. Online slots emerged as the most lucrative segment, generating $148.7 million—an impressive 36% increase from the previous year. This surge reflects the growing consumer demand for modern, immersive gaming platforms that blend convenience with entertainment.

Sports betting also posted remarkable gains, with revenue reaching $77.1 million—a staggering 498% jump compared to November 2023. This dramatic growth came despite a modest 0.15% increase in total betting volume, as operators benefited from improved margins. The sports betting sector’s performance underscores its role as a cornerstone of Pennsylvania’s gaming economy, fueled by a combination of consumer engagement and innovative product offerings.

Mixed Results in Retail Gaming

In the retail space, slot machines generated $201.5 million in revenue, marking a 6.21% increase from the previous year, reaffirming their status as a staple of the industry. However, table games experienced a slight decline, with revenues falling by 2.45% to $77.6 million.

Leading operators reported significant growth, with Valley Forge Casino Resort achieving $102.5 million in revenue, buoyed by a 69.17% year-over-year increase. Other major players, including Hollywood Casino at Meadows and Hollywood Casino Morgantown, posted substantial gains, highlighting the sector’s overall resilience. Conversely, some segments underperformed. Video gaming terminals saw a 4.39% decline in revenue, while fantasy contests dipped by 4.18%.
