Update on

Ever since the federal ban on sports betting was lifted, there have been a ton of new developments in the sector. With more sports leagues and teams warming up to the idea of being a part of the industry, we have seen several team-ups that are set to push things even further.

It was, therefore, not too surprising to find that BetMGM, one of the fastest-growing sports betting brands in the United States, had inked a partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the runaway leaders of the AFC North. Both will be working together to improve fan engagement and grow their audiences further.

The Terms

As per the terms of the partnership deal, BetMGM which is the team’s very first gaming partner will have full access to the NFL team’s logos and marks for communication across all of its marketing, product, social media, and digital properties. In addition to that, the sports betting operator will become the Pittsburgh Steelers’ official sports betting partner once their online sportsbook goes live in the Keystone State later this year.

Most notably, a key element of the partnership agreement involved BetMGM being a presenting sponsor of the “Steeler Kickoff” pregame show. In addition to that, there will be some TV commercial sports during the “Mike Tomlin Weekly Press Conference” on Tuesdays, “Steelers Weekly” on Saturdays, and “The Mike Tomlin Show” on Saturdays. All these are incredibly lucrative marketing and fan engagement opportunities that will certainly be valuable to the partners and the state as a whole.

“Steelers Nation is one of the most passionate fan bases in professional sports and we’re thrilled to bring the excitement of BetMGM to Steelers fans. We’re eager to launch BetMGM’s gaming offering in Pennsylvania and I can’t think of a better way to kick off our entry into the state than through this monumental partnership.”

BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost.

Steelers vice president of sales and marketing Ryan Huzjak believes that the partnership will go a long way when it comes to elevating the team’s existing platforms. At the same time, it will help introduce new and exciting opportunities to Steelers Nation.

BetMGM’s Pennsylvania Launch

Pennsylvania already has a pretty robust online gaming market but there is still room for more operators. BetMGM has been eyeing that market for quite some time and it is very close to launching an online sportsbook in the state. Already, it has received a license to offer online casino and sports betting from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. All that remains is regulatory which will probably be sorted out in the coming weeks.
